Restore deleted files
Hard drives, removable storage devices like CD, thumb drives and memory cards are the different types of storage devices used to store files. However stored files are not very secure in any of this devices data loss may happen due to different reasons like file system corruption, hard drive failure, accidental deletion of partitions or drive, formatting of the drive or partition, memory cards, virus attack, power fluctuation or human errors. Any of the above reason many cause you stored data disappear from the hard drive.
If you are deleting a files using Delete command the files do not gets deleted completely from the hard drive it can easily recovered from recycle bin. Whereas if you delete file using Shift+Delete keys the files gets deleted bypassing the recycle bin. In this condition if you want to restore deleted files you need a good undelete software to undelete lost files from hard drive. Similarly for Mac Operating system to undelete the deleted files you need to use Mac file recovery utility.
Restore of deleted files depends on the usage of the hard dive. Steps need to be followed before recovering:
- Stop using the hard drive immediately for further uses until you recover deleted files from it.
- Do not try to install any new data recover software to the drive. It gets overwritten your old files by new files.
- Do not attempt to restart your hard drive this could to lead to permanent data loss from drive.
- choose a good undelete software to undelete deleted files. Check preview option is available with the software before saving recovered files.
- Check the utility is capable to recover files deleted from recycle bin.
- Download the freeware trial version of the software to validate the ability of the software.
